  • Couldn’t beat Movie Mondays on the beach!

Every Monday night through August, the beach at West 10th Street (and sometimes the beach in front of Ruby's) was transformed into a makeshift movie theater at dusk — complete with a 40-foot inflatable screen! The FREE flicks for the 2015 summer season included blockbusters "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel"; family favorites "Big Hero 6" and "Mrs. Doubtfire"; and classics "The Goonies," "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and "The Terminator." Ruby's was happy to be a reliable source of refreshments during this summer tradition; see you on the boardwalk!...
  • Fireworks every Friday were a blast!

Every Friday night through August, Coney Island started the weekend off with a BANG with FREE fireworks! Ruby's was proud to offer spectacular views from the boardwalk for this annual summer tradition. See you on the boardwalk next year for this POW-erful sight!...
  • Coney found its summer groove with FREE concerts!

What do you get when you mix the musical stylings of legendary and contemporary artists and an idyllic beach destination with ticketless entry? The BEST summer EVER! JT Taylor (aka "The Voice," formerly of Kool & the Gang), Starship (featuring Mickey Thomas), The Lord Calverts, Eddie Santiago and N'Klabe made up the 2015 summer lineup for Coney Island's 36th Seaside Summer Concert Series July 22-24! Ruby's was proud to be a reliable source of refreshments for these high-energy evenings! Click HERE for more information....
  • This year’s Mermaid Parade was wet and wild!

Every year since 1983, Coney Island has celebrated the start of summer and official opening of the Atlantic Ocean with an annual Mermaid Parade the third Saturday of June. We're happy to report that this year's rain didn't dampen the spirits of revelers; everyone still had a MER-velous time! The parade, which pays homage to the hugely popular ‪‎Coney Island‬ Mardi Gras parades of the early 1900s, is the largest procession of its kind in the U.S., attracting hundreds of professional and amateur entertainers from all over. The imaginative costumes, floats and performances are a must-see! This year's King Neptune and Queen Mermaid were celebrity couple Ma...
  • Thank you for your kindness

A message from the family of Cindy Jacobs Allman: We are truly moved by the outpouring of support and love for Cindy. We have such wonderful memories of her, many of which happened right on the Coney Island boardwalk, where she got to meet and enjoy experiences with so many of you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness during this time. We are hoping to have a remembrance on the boardwalk sometime in the near future, and we hope you will all join us to honor her memory....
  • Brooklyn Half Marathon was record-breaking!

The Brooklyn Half Marathon became the largest race of its kind in U.S. history Saturday, May 16, with more than 26,000 people participating. The race, which started near the Brooklyn Museum, finished near Ruby's on the famous Coney Island boardwalk. Ruby's was proud to cheer on runners during the event and be a source of quality refreshments for participants and supporters! (more…)...
  • Ruby’s celebrated 80 years in style!

The boardwalk site that serves as Ruby's home has been a Coney Island tradition since 1934. To celebrate 80 YEARS, we threw a HUGE daylong party AUG. 9 that included trivia contests with Dr. Lucky, T-shirt giveaways and music from DJ Momotaro. Thank you for helping us celebrate at the most famous beach in America and at one of the sexiest beach bars in the world; the turnout was AMAZING! Thanks to all who came out to celebrate our 80th anniversary last summer and to everyone who wished us well!!! Here's a terrific story about our 80 years. And here's a great story recapping our 80-year bash! ...
  • Polar Bears hit the beach!

Even the cold of winter can’t dampen Coney Island’s energetic atmosphere! Every year, the Coney Island Polar Bear Club hosts its popular New Year’s Day Swim — when daring souls don bathing suits and costumes to take a quick dip in the ice-cold Atlantic Ocean for fun and charity. Proceeds benefit the club’s partner, Camp Sunshine, a retreat in Maine for chronically ill children and their families. With beach temps in the 30s, hundreds of swimmers took the Polar Bear Club's annual New Year's Day plunge at Coney Island Jan. 1, 2015. The club has raised nearly $400,000 since partnering with Camp Sunshine and hopes that it can raise $50,000 this year t...

The 2-mile event helped raise awareness and more than $165,000 for Alzheimer's care and research. To donate to the organization, please click HERE!      ...
  • Just for fun: Master does some dancing!

Genaoro Venegas Rivera -- or "Master," as everyone in Coney Island called him -- was a boardwalk icon. With his zest for life, boundless energy, gregarious personality and trademark sailor hat, he embodied the true spirit of Coney Island. He loved people, he loved music, and he LOVED to dance. Although he passed away in 2010, he lives on in the magical sights and sounds of the boardwalk. There was even a mural dedicated in his honor. Here's video of this beloved man getting his groove on at the boardwalk! ...
